They would be matched with one international student and work with them weekly on their English-speaking skills. It's a very relaxed and flexible program that becomes social for most pairs. It's a great way to meet people from other places and help welcome international students to the campus community. We ask for about 2 hours a week.
Our Study Skills program needs about 5 peer study skills advisers. Advisers work with students struggling with academic skills, like note-taking, reading, exam preparation, time management, etc...They would meet with each student twice and maintain a supportive relationship throughout the semester. We also hold monthly trainings for our advisers. The commitment is also about 2 hours a week.
