Application Process
Applying for the Certificate
Any student meeting the qualifications is encouraged to apply for the Leadership Certificate. To apply for the Certificate, a student would acquire a "Leadership Certificate Application" form either online or from the Center for Leadership and Involvement and then assemble the application materials. It is important to note that each student is responsible for tracking her/his own involvement and retaining all records necessary for the form. The only time that student records should be submitted is when accompanied by the complete "Leadership Certificate Application" packet.
Forms are available at the Center for Leadership and Involvement in the Red Gym as well as online to assist with tracking and verifying their involvement. The Center for Leadership and Involvement will also be offering optional monthly leadership reflection sessions where a student could receive assistance with the application.
Application Process
1. Student decides to apply for the Leadership Certificate and registers online.
2. Attends the Leadership Certificate Orientation Session provided by the Center for Leadership and Involvement, offered one time each semester.
3. By the established deadline date, the student submits the necessary forms and supplemental records including:
- Leadership Certificate Application Form
- Leadership Certificate Record of Activities
- Leadership Certificate Online Learning Record
- Educational Artifact
- The signed ethics statement, stating that all information submitted is complete and accurate
4. Leadership Application Materials are reviewed by the Center for Leadership and Involvement for completeness.
5. Educational Artifact is evaluated by the Leadership Certificate Review Committee; any student who wishes to utilize the presentation format for the educational artifact must also schedule an appointment with the committee through the Center for Leadership and Involvement.
6. Student is notified of decision by the Center for Leadership and Involvement.
7. Any student who does not receive the Certificate may modify their materials and resubmit their application for consideration.
